God fry n glad,

Bottom line is they claimed Joseph had kids with another woman. You can quibble about the sequence all you want.

I dont know from where you got that "Jesus was a bastard" idea. When ones father remarries, does one become a bastard?

My point is, his walking on water was unnecessary - its like he waited for the disciples to leave the shore then he showed up walking on water. Why didnt he just fly anyway?
He was not walking to get to the other side. He was walking to the sea, where the disciples were in a boat.

edited to change Josephus to Joseph

Obviously, as critics since D. F. Strauss have realized, the narrative is not historical.

This website www.apollonious.net/nannar.html has one of the theories were the bastard idea originate from. Here is an excerpt:

When Mary was around 20 years old, Prince Nannar "materialized" here on Tiamat as a Roman soldier. He met Mary at a pre-arranged time and location and impregnated her with his sperm. Jesus was conceived. When Jesus reached puberty, he was taken to India where he was fully indoctrinated into the rest of the plot by revolutionary Nibiruan Princess-Royal Inanna/Lakshmi, the ruler of what is now India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Indochina. At about the age of 30, Jesus returned to Jerusalem.

It also says Nannar arranged for an old man, Joseph to be her wife.

No proof for this theory either, but this is one of the sources for the bastard belief about Jesus.

Could we perhaps tone it done a bit. Let's avoid name calling and stick to legitimate debate. Thanks.

Well, that's far afield from the usual Talmudic citations for Yeshu ben Pentera and "such-an-one", which are the usual references to Jesus having been the bastard of a Roman soldier and Miriam. But then, these references are usually dismissed as being chronologically distant sources that are the product of polemical response to Christian claims of Jewish culpability in the trial, condemnation and execution of Jesus.
