Default to my Christian fellowmen

Do we really have freewill(according to the bible)?

I have this Christian friend who says that there is really no freewill and that everything that happens, good or evil, is part of his grand plan. He gave me verses from the bible... I think one was in Epphesians on chapter 4 I think and another in Romans. Demmit I can't remember the verses. But it's about how god makes stubborn whom he wishes and gives faith to whom he wishes and you really can't do anything about it because you're just god's puppet. He gave other verses I just forgot. I'll ask him again then post it here.

Anyway, I just want to ask, do you agree with that? If not, where in the bible does it say that god did grant us freewill?

Thanks.

Default perfect predestination

is a Calvinist heresy.

God has made us with free will. We make mistakes and we also experience the consequence of our mistakes. God does his best to help us out, but like a parent, he cannot do it all for us.
