Regarding Hans Blix (Den) exposing the forgery under Bush:
.) el Baradei (Egypt) -during the U.N. inspections in Iraq- used to be more aggressively exposing the flaws of Bush's favoring the war in Iraq, than Blix was; Blix was also exposing Bush's flaws, but more moderately; .) now, Blix is aggressively exposing Bush's flaws, I think because Bush already assembled a team of 1000 people who are searching for Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq (many from el Baradei's and Blix' former U.N. team); in today's newspaper, Blix asked the U.N. Security Council yesterday to O.K. the making of a U.N. team for inspections; I think that Blix feels that Bush's inspections in Iraq, short-circuit the U.N., and Blix is aggressively pushing now for a U.N. team to search for Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, so that the U.N. role in this crucial matter that officially triggered the sorry war in Iraq, is maintained; Blix has a point when today in the newspaper, he states that the U.N. team could give credence to any U.S. 'find' as not being planted by the U.S.; .) when driving today, I saw these stickers on a car, and I agree with them: "There is a terrorist behind every Bush" (there is a play on the words bush and Bush in there, and regarding the current Bush, think that behind this Bush there are Perle, Wolfowitz, Kristol, etc); and "Regime change begins at home" .) Bring in, in 2004, Howard Dean, for President, so that this U.S. masquerade stops. |

Ion,
Are you suggesting then that Blix is merely playing "good cop" to Bush's "bad cop"? |

It seems to me (English is not my first language) that the expression 'good cop, bad cop', refers to a team of two people ganging with the same purpose, against someone.
Bush and Blix are not a team of two people. Blix is criticizing Bush's advisors, so he is implicitely criticizing Bush. It seems to be from reading the newspaper, that Blix sees more danger now than before in Bush hijacking the search for illegal weapons in Iraq, sees danger in Bush planting evidence (I threw away the paper, but the quote was clear, albeit diplomatic), and sees U.N. inspections deemed by Bush as being insignificant in this Iraqi weapon's question. Hence, Blix questions technically and almost opposes Bush's methods on this important matter of reason for war. He speaks about U.N. doing a search, parallel to Bush's. Parallel for now, since Bush has the power in Iraq at the moment. |
