I like the second one. I wish they'd pull a couple of those 18 wheelers up to the smoking pits outside the schools here with those body bags.

I hate anti-smoking and anti-drug ads...total waste of money. Believe me, we smokers know the stats, know its not good for you...we got it okay? Now, the ad says "1200 smokers die every day..." did you also know that every day

1,310 babies are born without health insurance
7,883 children are reported abused or neglected
9 children or youth under 20 die from firearms

Can't the money for the slick annti-smoking ads be better spent?

I believe anti-whatever ads aren't to stop the people who already do it, for whatever reason, but to help cut down on the people attempting to start

Do you think a commercial is going to make someone decide to not smoke? I thinks that's almost as silly as them think people started smoking because of ads and commercials.

Ask any smoker why they started smoking...I doubt anyone will say "because I thought Joe Camel was so cool". Ask anyone who has quit smoking, I'll retract if you can find one person that said "you know, I didn't think smoking was bad for you...but then I saw that commercial!". Ask a kid why they would or would not start smoking...it's all about them and their friends and environment....either it's cool among their peer group or its not or they want to rebel or whatever...their decision is not based on ads.

Most smokers start as teenagers. Telling a teenager *not* to do something often has the opposite effect.

I know this is a little off topic, but... What's that stuff you always see Middle-Eastern people smoking, with those long flexible tubes, (several of them), coming out of what looks like a party bong? Is that pot they're smoking, or what?
