It's kind of funny, because I think this is a very widespread human bahavior in general. Why is it that someone can be very knowledgeable and use good judgement and reason in one area, and then go completely stupid in another area? I understand limitations due to lack of knowledge, but it really seems like there are mental drop-offs in many people's minds. Has anyone else noticed this? Do we have such drop-offs that we're simply not aware of? Or are we somehow different than the masses?

Yeah...I know this is really off topic here...
