This was bickering? All the references to "trade schools" "tech graduates" and the like went over my australian head. What is this fight about?

No no no. The papers at my high school look much better than that (I have to hand on in tomorrow. wish me luck!).

And on a side note, I don't belive that it is correct to use first person in papers, even when you are presenting your beliefs. It takes credibility from the paper.

Well, we know what the prof. did when he (or she) handed the paper back:

Art-Ceramics -- Yep, we have an Art school. And a very well respected one
Fashion Merchandising -- We actually have girls at our school!
Furnishings and Interiors -- Our architechure school has a little style.
Poultry Science -- How dare the flagship univeristy of the state that has the largest poultry industry have a poultry major!
Recreation and Leisure Studies -- What exactly do you have aginst the park system?

It gets worse. A few years ago, a guy sent an application to get into an honors dorm at a university with similar statements. I never actually got to see it, but Dr. Retard (who posts here on the philosophy boards) did and said it was pretty bad.

pz, Didymus, we aren't bickering. This is all in fun, and has to do with the long-running football rivalry between Ga. Tech (the Georgia Institute of Technology, known to those with low and beetled brows as the North Avenue Trade School for Wayward Boys) and Georgia (the University of Georgia, whose women's dorms would be called whorehouses save that the women don't charge.)

All this goes back to long before any of us were born, including the jokes.

And before you start badmouthing Ga. Tech, I should point out that Tech has been rated the second or third best technological school in the country for many years; only MIT is consistently rated better. (And if Georgia wouldn't waste so much money on their football team, they might be a pretty fair school too.)

I hope you don't mind me blogging this, RufusAtticus. It was just too "good" to pass on.

What's wrong with that? At least we have women. Well tech does have a few coeds, of course they're known to say, "GA Tech, where the odds are good, but the goods are odd."

Yeah? So what if Tech is good at building bridges. We do actual Science at Georgia. For example, internationally reknowned programs in genetics, ecology, and evolutionary biology. Yes I'm plugging.

Isn't it just a bit unethical to scan someone's college paper (without their permission) onto the internet so it can be ridiculed by people?
