If you feel you have been insulted, please report it to a moderator. Personal insults are not tolerated here, regardless of the target. You can, however expect your ideas or arguments to be heavily criticised, especially if you can not or will not use logic to support them.

I don't know of any atheist on this forum who is closed off to the idea of being wrong. It's just that you cannot give us a convincing argument. You say the same thing over and over again and then complain about being persecuted and not being taken seriously. Honestly, has it occurred to you that we've heard these arguments many times before? And these arguments have been refuted? I understand you're relatively new to your faith and are eager to push your new faith forward (I was just like that...a fully functioning prostelytizing (sp?) Christian...for many years...so I can fully relate to your enthusiasm) but you aren't making very convincing arguments. I usually lurk up here and all the arguments you have been using are the same ones that turned out to be rather hollow when I finally looked at my faith.

Earl,

I think it's VERY important to consider one major thing:

No matter HOW well you formulate ANY argument/debate, unless the person is OPEN to listening and really really TAKING IN what you or someone else is saying, it isn't going to matter at ALL to them.

That's why I ignore it for the most part unless they REALLY want to hear it.

When someone isn't listening, nothing you say matters. So why even try? Just look at 90% of the posts by Magus55. Case in point.

I hear ya though, Earl, it's tough.

Justin

Thanks Justin, but if someone is open to freethinking then they aren't fundementalist christians, the objects of my distain.

You bet your bippy its tough.

And for all the Maguss bashers.....wouldn't this be a boring site if we didn't have people like him to respond to? I only wish he would invite more of his kind here to debate some of these issues. Maybe we could open some eyes

LOL!
Spoken like a guy with only 13 posts.

Let's see if your wish is the same after a few months of "debating" guys like Magus.

Good luck.

I made a lengthy post asking WHY you are around. I don't understand why you choose to post to these boards when it's obvious you don't wish to indulge in empirical discussions or logical arguments. So I ask you again: Why are you here?
The same reason many atheists go to Christian message boards. To debate and defend their views. RR and Christian Forums are full of atheists, why do they waste their time there?

Magus, I took part in many a drama and debate tournament in high school. What you do is not debating.

Magus55...........Let me ask, why are you so passionate about spreading your beliefs? My original intent here was not for you and some of the others to get into a scrap but to ask for reasons why we are so passionate about our beliefs and or non-beliefs. Most of the time I don't know why I care so much, how about you? Is it because it is in the bible that you have to try to make us "see the truth", or another reason?
