What is the link to his site? I would like to read over it.

In March Steven and I spent a few hours together having brunch and walking along the seawall in Vancouver. We had intended to get together again sometime, I had on a number of occasions (last week even) intended to call him to suggest spending some time together, but decided to wait until after the holidays when I had more time and energy.

The man he portrayed here on this board was genuine, he was engaging, witty, sweet and irreverent. We laughed at a waitress who openly scratched her crotch, it was really an enjoyable morning.

I wish that I had gotten to know him better. I wish that I had called when I knew he was in trouble. I respect his choice, I feel sorrow for the pain he felt and the pain others feel from his death and will always appreciate his honest and cantankerous method of communication.

This picture was taken that day and I think it honestly reflects the man I met.

Angry

Crap.

I haven't been around as much as I've wanted recently, but have always taken comfort that there was a place filled with intelligent (if occasionally combatative) people who gave a toss about others and the state of the world.

And we've lost another one. I didn't personally know MM, but like most of you, I read his posts; occasionally in disbelief; occasionally in full agreement.

To those that have lost a true friend, my heartfelt condolences.

And to anyone feeling _anything_ approaching desperation about their lives, or what is happening to them, *please* talk to someone else. If no-one in RL, then use the _private message_ option. I've been in some dark places, and have received help that has pulled me through... **Never** feel as though you can't bother other people, or that they wouldn't be interested in helping you.

In common with others, this makes me incredibly angry. But more so, incredibly sad.

To everyone here; whether regular poster, or infrequent lurker: people *do* give a damn about you, be you a Christian, Muslim, or full-on deity-damning atheist...

Crap. As ever, I can't find the words to express myself properly.

MM will be remembered. A toast to his memory.

I don't know what else to say. In my short time at II, he's had one of the stongest impacts on me. I regret not getting to know him better.
