Saying Canadian beer is better than American beer is like saying being stabbed in the eye with a rusty nail is better than being stabbed in the groin with a rusty nail.

Note: I'm talking about big brand name macrobrews, not the hundreds of damned tasty American specialty brews. I assume there's a Canadian equivalent?

Note #2: I am fully aware that Canada is in North America, but I was using the adjective "American" to refer to the United States.

On behalf of the US, I'd like to apologize for Carrot Top.

Look, we gave you Neil Young and the Tragically Hip. The least you could do is graciously accept Shania Twain. (no really...take her...and take Alan Thicke while you're at it).
I'll take her!! I don't think her hubby'd like it, though (she is married, right?).

Please do.

That should eliminate most of the TV I watched as a kid.

Except Sesame Street, of course.

By watching American TV? Well, that depends.

Look on me as a quality control supervisor.

Well, if we're going to take big-name beers out of the mix, then it's a different story.

The next time you're up here, seek out Alexander Keith's, Ryckard's Red and Sleeman's ale. Those are very good examples of very good Canadian beer.

And while I'll agree with you that Labatt's Blue and Molson Canadian leave much to be desired, I'll drink either of those (and Moosehead, for that matter) before I'd subject myself to Stroh's or some other Wisconsin tap water being passed off as beer.

Buy a bottle of Miller Genuine Draft and Labatt Genuine Draft. Compare. Get back to me and tell me how right I am.
