Hmm.. my last post seems to paint the singularity as a thing of doom. I'll take that back, I was smoking glue. I'm aware that the singularity can be interpreted in beneficial terms. However, many see nothing but doom down that path, which is the attitude I have an issue with.

Perhaps we should change the name to all those involved in research and applying the benefits to the human race from scientists to "do gooders"

Why not just sic the po-po on the crazy bastards who abuse it? Most talented scientists are more interested in HELPING humanity. Why are people so dense?
