free12thinker:
Not to defend Kamchatka, but I think you misunderstand his position. From what I can derive from the cryptic babble of his posts, while he believes in the christian god, he also seems to believe in all the gods which are worshipped. That's been my beef with him this whole time. For some reason he seems to think that a god is actualized and gains power every time they are imagined up or worshipped, respectively. As I've stated, my argument holds that the idea of god(s) can be actualized, but god(s) themselves, as entities cannot. I don't think he worships any god in particular, but he believes that every god is in existence in some way (how he came to this conclusion is beyond the grasp of my sanity), and that we must understand that god(s) exist in order for us to be able to "combat" or "fight" against them. He also seems to hold that the atheist position is just the same as theistic positions as it has the same attributes (which he has yet to prove, BTW) but just no god(s). Another ridiculous example of someone calling atheism a "religion" again. Let me know if I'm wrong in my assumptions Kamchatka, I await your reasoning for these idiotic assertions. |

Maybe he read Anne Rices novel the "Bone Collector" (if I am remembering correctly) and got his idea from there. In it the pagan God, Marduck only has power when people believe in him. Or perhaps He got it from the Bible, it seemed Jesus only had "power" if people believed in Him and those who didn't mysteriously were unable to be "cured" by His Almighty Powers.
He is entitled to believe what ever it is he wants, but that doesn't mean what he believes isn't a load of crap. B |

Well, we could give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he is simply busy … or we can not do that and figure that he has been scared away. You can be intimidating to the weak minded you know

I mean, all christians (for example) have different ideas of the christian god, different mental images and different attributes applied to that god. There should be a (or several) god(s) for each and every believer. Gods wich follows the persons imagination, and are practicly ruled by the person believing in them. It's insane when put into practice. |

I think the former is most likely true, brighid.
WJ doesn't care how easily his arguments are destroyed. He only cares about trying to establish a perceived stalemate and in his mind that means "just never concede." |
