God in the shape of Jesus(according to some!) said that God would turn the other cheek. I take a possible meaning to be that God will of course forgive you if you ask for it. If we are to believe religious doctrine, the child would go before God or Jesus, and God or Jesus will ask for forgiveness from you. Just as you would ask forgiveness of God.

Perhaps?

Proof can be temporal.

That's all fine and dandy, spurly, but then you say:
Have I seen someone who had an answer to prayer that could be nothing else? Yes. But not very many.
...and also....
He answers our prayers in ways that we can't even explain. Sometimes he gives us things that we don't even realize he is giving us.

So already you have rendered the debate moot, haven't you? There isn't a debate, is there?
God intervenes.

He expects us to use the gifts he has given us to transform society, and to help rid the world of evil like the one that was mentioned at the beginning of this thread. He has placed that job in our hands.
Well, now, if millions of Christians worldwide pray for the elimination of evil, but God has left that job to us, then millions are wasting time with hands folded in earnest prayer when they should have their hands tightened in a kung fu grip around Mr. Evil.

BTW, I don't want to spoil the outcome of man vs. evil for ya', but I read ahead to the last chapter (Revelation) and we didn't do too good of a job on Mr. Evil and we don't transform society.

Rad, Do you ever post without taking pot shots against the person you are posting to?
Oh come off it. I've made fewer personal remarks in a month than some atheists have made in a single post. Take yourself for example, my fellow hypocrite. You provide no examples either, as with most slanderers here. Read my posts to Kirby, Sneddin, Aimee, or even Carrie (whom I strongly disagree with on a certain issue) and get back to me.

Do you ever have anything nice to say about a non Christian?
All the time. I've taken special note of the ones who have integrity, when I find it. I say all kinds of nice things about people at work, which is 80% atheist. You have no idea what you are talking about. Meanwhile did you say anything when an atheist recently said "Christians don't love anybody"? Another said I had a pinecone up my ass, and nobody said a damn thing after the moderator jumped on me for a far lesser offense.

The double "free speech" standard here is a marvel, and one of the reasons we know that atheism will bring no peace on earth.

And please don't use the excuse about what another person does to excuse your own behavior.
I agree. Some holy people like yourself need a mirror to look in though. I don't suppose you noticed how civil everyone is being and how few mirrors I've held up in the last month since the Salem Rad trials stopped. In fact I haven't done any real "mirroring" or gotten off thread for a week, until you showed up. Why is that do you suppose?

"ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER YOU SHALL ASK IN PRAYER, BELIEVING, YOU SHALL RECEIVE." (MATTHEW 21:22)

"ALL THINGS" is an absolute. "WHATSOEVER" reiterates. This was supposed to be JC himself talking.

How do xians weasel out of this? The only way out I see is to claim that those who don't have prayers answered don't believe! There are no other options that I can see.

Me neither. Which may explain why atheists have fewer prayers answered than anyone.
