Cool I entertained my Spanish class today

I go to a free Spanish class once a week at the local community center/wrinkle ranch, although you don't have to be a codge to go to class there. The girl who teaches it is young and pretty and Colombian.

Today was our last day of class, we had a big party, and I brought my karaoke opera CD, tossed it in the boombox, and sang for the class.

I did the Habanera from "Carmen" (L'amour est l'oiseau rebelle) Love is a wild bird;

and "My heart slowly awakens" (Mon coeur s'ouvre t'a voix) from "Samson and Delilah". Both of them are in French.

At least Carmen is set in Spain.

They all loved it. There is a Vietnamese couple in the class who speak French and they said my French was just fine!! (BIG SHIT-EATING GRIN HERE!!)

I wish I had a place to sing around here! I got thrown outta the local community opera company after singing in the chorus of The Elixir of Love, and having a blast....they never called me back because I have to wear my glasses on stage, so I don't fall off. I have heard lately that since the Elixir of Love production, they have run off so many people with their political games that their productions now are really lame.

I wouldn't mind singing in musicals if they weren't the same old stuff that people are tired of (Rodgers & Hammerstein).

Talking

Por favor and sangria!!!!

Lovely language, I really should learn it since big sis lives in Spain and I would have both her and her Spanish man to teach me plus I would be able to understand a lot of Italian with it as well.

Hmmmm made me think about it now Opera nut, anyway glad you enjoyed your class and it was cool getting up and singing in French. Carmen is a really nice opera.

Oh, I know another one, pajero (pa-hero or close enough), which means wanker, one who masturbates too much.

The irony here is that in Australia the Mitsubish uses the Pajero name to badge its leading off-road 4WD or SUV. Apparently in South America theyre known as a Montero, understandably. I would dearly love to know the story behind this supreme of marketing blunders.

My sister had a great time finding opportunities to use the phrase throughout her travels in Latin America.

The extent of my Spanish speaking skills.

El gato es muy grande.
The cat is very big.

El perro es muy fro.
The dog is very cold.

Los zapatos son tres tamao demasiado grandes.
My shoes are three sizes too big.

Por qu s stos son los dedos verdaderos.
Why yes these are my real toes.

Why I remember only these four things in Spanish from my childhood is beyond my imagination, but thankfully they are the important ones.

What, is that true? It's also called the Mitsubishi Pajero here in the Philippines. And yet, since we were a spanish colony, there are quite a few folks who speak the language. Why hasn't there been an uproar here?

7. In Asia, Mitsubishis sports utility vehicle named the PAJERO drew laughter from Spanish-speaking consumers. In Spanish, pajero means one who masturbates.
