Why, you yourself. Isn't that why you made that fond farewell "Adieu" thread?
"I leave with no regrets except that I didn't leave sooner... I feel like God has told me that I need to leave." Did your god tell you that you needed to come back, or did you just decide, "Hell with it, I'm bored"? [ April 07, 2002: Message edited by: QueenofSwords ]
|

God told her to come back, and then hijack her own thread. That God. What a goof!

There's nothing like a nice game of voleball to relieve boredom, my ol' grandpa used to say.

To return briefly to the subject of Michael Ruse and Evolution, I'd like to mention that not long ago I picked his book Mystery of Mysteries : Is Evolution a Social Construction as an II Book-of-the-Month. I bought a copy myself and read it all the way through. Ultimately, Ruse concludes that while Darwin's original work was strongly influenced by the surrounding cultural phenomena of Victorian England, in the 20th century, Evolution has migrated fully into the realm of "hard science" with precise mathmatical models and all of the other attributes of "objective scientific truth."
Of course, nothing prevents anybody from misusing "objective scientific truth," so it would not surprise me if some people took that truth and elevated it into the status of a "religious belief." Certainly, Creationism is nothing at all more than a "religious belief." But the distinction remains: Evolution has a strong foundation in scientifically objective facts. == Bill |
