8/291 with only 2 tailenders left in the first innings. Oh dear!!
Someone had to make big hundred to save the follow-on and with it, the game. Australia should mop up the last two wickets pretty quickly, and barring rain or some very long partnerships they should have a crushing victory under their belt by lunch on Day 5.

BigBlue2 could be right. Even on such a placid pitch the Windies couldn't do much with the bat. Doesn't help with Lara suffering the "mystery" illness again.

I think Australia have only lost in the last 16 tests after they have enforced the follow on. Then again, MacGill is apparently loving the turn he is getting. This is what I love about test cricket. Each day being full of possibilities and uncertainties.

I do reserve the right to change my mind re the outcome of the match pending the 4th day results.

Cool

7 wickets in hand, 90 runs behind, 3 sessions left.

Should be interesting.

Indeed. It obviously depends on what sort of target the Windies manage to set and how long the Australians have to achieve said target. Chanderpaul is still to come and Lara and Sarwan are well set. The Windies should hang on if they survive the new ball. Then again, 2 or 3 quick wickets and it all changes again.
Has anyone noticed that McGrath hasn't taken a wicket yet?

I admit that I was worried but MacGill saw Australia home (as predicted!).

That was one dog of a pitch. The Aussie bowlers did well to bowl the Windies out twice on that track. And Australia back as the No1 test playing nation.

Will the dead rubber curse strike Australia again or can they do the clean sweep of the Windies. See you all Friday night for the answers and Jason Gillespsie's one man revival of the mullet.

I've always had time for MacGill. He has done well bowling under Warne's shadow. He is often criticized for some on field and off field incidents which is suprising given Warnie's track record. Yet he always does the job and I think will grow in stature in Warnie's abscence. When Warnie has serverd his ban I'm not sure if MacGill will be able to be easily brushed aside.

Nice article here on MacGill.
