Smile Thank You for Existing, IIDB!

This is going to be sappy and stupid. You've been warned.

I've only been here a couple of months, but as many of you know, I've been trying to integrate myself into discussions as much as possible... it's because I dearly love this place more than I can possibly express.

The town I live in is semi-enlightened... it's a college town after all, but I still suffer from typical bible belt prejudice and stupidity and coming here and comingling with all of you is like a breath of fresh air. Thankfully, my business allows me a lot of free time to spend on forums like this so it is sort of a regular pick-me-up just to come here. So many thought-provoking, interesting and intelligent threads is like a breath of fresh air... and best of all, this forum unlike almost every other forum I've ever been on tends to be friendly and polite with very little bad feeling or backstabbing.

It's just great to share ideas with so many terrific, friendly and smart people. Thanks for being there and thanks for existing, IIDB.

Hi Arken,

I am glad you found us. Consider this your second home, a port in the storm.

Nah, that's not sappy or stupid. I'm in the same boat as you, and glad I finally got around to exploring and joining the forums as well. Reading others opinions, on both sides of the fence, has already in the past few months helped me reaffirm my atheism, something that in the current world is hard to publically do without being looked down upon.
