I'm currently reading, The Legend of Pope Joan by Peter Stanford. Legends usually have a kernal of truth....

They have many items of Jesus' furniture in storage. It is very badly made apparently, and was originally mistaken for early Robinson Crusoe (which surprisingly commands higher prices at auction) made when his hand was still sore from fighting the shark. They think it would be disastrous for Jesus' image rights if the public got to see them, but they daren't burn them in case he pops by one day.

St Francis of Asisi's book on ventriloquism is another they don't like to talk about much. In fact, if you ring the switchboard they will consistently deny it even exists.
