Thumbs down

You are in a state of mortal sin. To die in a state of mortal sin, according to Catholic theology, warrants eternal damnation.
Curious, does this still include unbaptized children? Also, what about the mentally disabled?

Regardless, I do not put much stock in Catholic theology as they keep flip-flopping and have been doing so a for a few thousand years.

Case in point: The Catholic church used to believe the level of torture in hell will be dealt in accordance with the seriousness of the individual's sin. Most individuals who are not destined to hell first suffer punishment in purgatory where they are “cleansed” and then admitted into heaven.

On July 28th, 1999 the Pope decrees that hell is: “the pain, frustration and emptiness of life without God.”

So which is it? Separation? Or torture? Since I am headed there it sure would be nice know what to expect.

Also, I'm eagerly awaiting answers to the previous questions I posted.

100? Hah! I'm 2.13 times the poster you are!

Hang on.. 2.14?

Gemma, I'm going to assume you meant your original comments in a purely non-patronising manner, and therefore thank you for them. I sincerely hope that someone makes you a sandwich soon (or some other act of kindness).

Of course! I've been planning for 10 years now! I'll keep you posted -- but it takes up to 7 years before one takes final vows.

Dear friend, separation from God IS torturous.

Benevolent my b....

How dare any Christian believe I would be grateful for this gesture?

If it was indeed an unselfish act, Gemma wouldn't have to say a word. She could just quietly go about saving our souls.

Gemma -

While I am not too keen on the idea of you being a nun, I am totally impressed that you quote Hyacinth Bucket.
