But sadly, this high-schooler is more coherent than several letters to the editor I read back when the IDers were trying to get their ideas into my state's curriculum. And most of those were written by "grown-ups."

Attica is in the middle of a fucking corn field. This kid probably drives a tractor to school and walks in with pig shit on his shoes.

My wife student taught in Attica a few years ago, 5th grade. There were several students in her class who had the attitude "I done learned all the book learnin' I'll ever need to farm/work in the factory, so don't teach me nuttin' 'cause I won't learn it." Fifth grade...

Even worse was that some of their parents saw nothing wrong with that attitude ("Don't want Junior bein' no smarter than me"). They only were concerned about their kids causing disruptions in class, not about performance.

Terribly sad and depressing the level of anti-intellectualism.
