If you are referring to my post, I apologize - I often have difficulty recognizing things like this as being inappropriate. Hearing about MM has just stirred up some unpleasant thoughts and doubts in my mind, that's all.

People,

Please try not to argue here. I don't want this thread derailed. MM's death affected each of us differently. Let's respect each others emotional responses.

If he was cognizant enough to kill himself, he was cognizant enough to get help. Simple as that. I can argue this point from experience. I've made my point and that's all I will say on the matter.

BTW, When is there an "appropriate time" to discuss suicide? People commit suicide everyday, just because today it happens to be someone we know, makes it even more appropriate.

This subject can be discussed at anytime. I just want it to happen outside of this thread which has become a memorial of sorts to MM.

Several threads were started in the various forums. Check MF&P, I think there where some there. You can start a thread here, but we do not allow debate, so you may want to start it in another forum.

Have been away for a few weeks and just saw this thread. So sad. Thank you for the poetry all. John Donne is appropriate for my sentiments.

Sigh.

Reading MadMordigans posts was a solace I admired him. I couldnt fall asleep when I heard of what happened to him.

Talking let's not be hasty

Regardless of whether you think the suicidal are cowards, isn't it a little extreme to "lose all respect" for someone about a SINGLE mistake? That seems ridiculous to me. I'm sure nobody here thinks it was a good idea for him to commit suicide, but that doesn't mean we lose our respect for an otherwise great man.
