I've got a fair bit more, especially on peppered moths (which deserve a very long article in themselves) -- and plus some more general analysis, although much of that is even more sarcastic (one gets carried away a bit at 3 in morning).
I think you really ought to post it, sarcasm and all.

(I don't know of a good webpage discussing the current controversies about molecular phylogenies at the base of the Tree of Life; there are many sets of lecture notes etc. out there but nothing comprehensive like the above homology thing. Like I said, if people come across good links they might forward them my way).
Would you mind sending me the URLs for the lecture notes? I'm almost completley unfamiliar with that topic (it doesn't come up much in the field of fault mechanics), and I'd like to learn more. Even though they're not comprehensive, they'll give me a place to start.

I went to the mic to ask Wells about this, specifically the Johnson, and Coffin paper on primate endogenous retroviral sequences:

I'm sorry to hear you got cut off. I downloaded the Johnson and Coffin paper, I'll read it this weekend.

I am about 4 references short on a review article on the Wells BS about the Miller- Urey experiment, and the primordial atmosphere in general. I am particularly hopeful about M. A. Line's recent Microbiology review article. The short form is that the Miller-Urey gas mix was the right mix for the wrong seasons.
Where are you going to post your review article? Are you focusing on a particular aspect of Well's claims? Wells' claims about oxygen in the Archean atmosphere are the closest to my area of expertise (geology), and I think Nic does a really nice job of refuting Wells' claims.

I read the Martin Line article this AM, and will read it again later. It was a good review up to the point that he asserts that, "In view of the complexity of the LCC relative to that resulting from all subsequent evolution, it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that at least as great a timespan preceeded the LCC as that which followed it." For the rest of the paper Line wanders of into panspermia land (or is that galaxy?)

I don't know where my review will go, or just when I'll be able to finish it. Nick's piece is a good response to Wells. What I want to shoot for is a piece that cites a large portion of the primary literature, and more general than a Wells critisism.

Just as a heads-up, a lot of new information was recently added to this page, so it's worth checking out again...
