Hehehe, they had Zogby on CNN today being interviewed by Judy Woodruff (or whatever her name is), poiting out the negative ramifications of the war in the Arab world (essentially war inflames "the Arab street," which means either the regimes get even more repressive or if they go democratic they all get new anti U.S. regimes), and as soon as he started to get really critical of Bush BAM, they "lost their video feed." Gore Vidal once wrote that CNN just unplugged a cable once when he got too critical and called it a technical problem, I bet this was the same thing.

Vive le Etats Unis libre.

Yes, that's right. Bush is frustrated with the media and its "questioning" of US war plans.

:boohoo:

Myself, I cannot personally imagine a group of media outlets in the free world doing any more pandering to the government, and asking any less questions, than our CNN/MSNBC team. So I guess Bush just expects the media to cease to exist at this point?
If you think *they're* bad....

I was at the gym today, and someone had FOX News on the big screen TV, so there was no choice but to watch it. Holy shit - it's the news source for the Wal-Mart & Sean Hannity crowd.

First, the news announcer was himself criticizing the press for asking Dubya hard questions.

And then, to get a view from an 'unbiased expert' on the media, he brought out (drumroll)....that little goosestepping fundie, Gary Bauer, of the American Values Coalition. Who, of course, chastised the White House reporters for their sacriligeous act of questioning Dubya on the war. This, in light of the media being a bunch of whipped ninnies that can't do anything except toss slow-pitch softballs to the dumbest man in government. (Who himself can only manage to bunt, once in awhile). Then Bauer went on to say that the real root cause here was -- you guessed it--popular culture, MTV, and video games.

Obviously, competition from FOX is why CNN has gone to the dogs in the last few years. It used to be an okay sort of news source. But since FOX has gained ground in viewers, CNN has felt the need to respond by dumbing down their programming, and making their anchors more chatty and opinionated.

Quality of news sources - must follow the same law that counterfeit money follows: bad drives out good.
