You asked me to prove that the existence of a god cannot be factually proven, and then it will be relevant to the discussion at hand. I'm not sure

1) what would god be nor his/her/its attibutes
2) how would we prove something we cannot perceive with our senses?

My answer to both of your questions is: I don't know, and it's not my problem. I'm not the one trying to assert that it's impossible to prove that a god exists, remember?

Sincerely,

Goliath

neither did I. I said thus far God hasn't been proven. God hasn't even been given a general working definition for discussion's sake, so I hope you didn't mis- take a stance that I did not take.

I am still waiting to hear your view on differentiating a belief and an opinion.

I hope that you're not a lying sack of s*it like CJD, but instead typed something that you did not mean to write.

Both a belief and an opinion entail making a claim. However, an opinion is usually based upon evidence, whereas a belief need not be based upon evidence at all.

I'll tell you what, though: If you want to equivocate "belief" and "opinion" for the sake of this discussion, then that's fine with me.

Sincerely,

Goliath

Goliath,
Would you please provide your definition of belief?

Thanks,

Steve

To hold a belief is to make a positive claim.

Goliath,

Thank you for your response.

Do you have any qualifiers to this definition? Such as, to make a positive claim without proof.
