You definitely get less leeway if you are a new user. It's good to fly under the radar for awhile.

Plus, it's never a good idea to call another user names (either here or at CF). You have to couch your revulsion in an appropriate manner. Try and address the statement instead of the person. Instead of saying "you're a bigot", you could say "that's a bigotted statement". Attack the post, not the poster.
