There is this 'IgnoreList' facility: open a poster's public profile from the drop down menu on the left of one of his posts, and a link at the top says 'add to Ignore List'. Then the posts are hidden and one is spared the tedium of reading them.

Thanks. I figured the site probably had one, like most of the other forums I frequent. I haven't looked for it because I prefer not to use it. For various reasons.
