I wish you the best of news. Please let us know the results of your test.

Also, I want to agree with you. I've been where you stand now, but unfortunately I got bad news instead of good. I have malignant melanoma and I'll tell you what, having cancer has not changed my attitude about religion in the least. I have never even as a child believed in a god, and facing the possibility of my death (which we all do a some point) much earlier than I would prefer it hasn't changed anything about that.

The "no athests in a foxhole" statement is just plain stupid. What it really infers is that some people, when really, really afraid, will believe anything. I often see this in my interactions with fellow cancer patients, and I understand it not at all.
