Welcome to the boards, George.

I think you will find most of us sceptical about UFOs, even more of us sceptical about spirit guides, but I think you'll find almost complete acceptence of the idea that homosexuality exists.

Whether one thinks homosexuality a good thing, of course, is another matter.

From my reading of lots of threads here, I think you'll find that most of us do not think that homosexuals should be discriminated against, whether homosexual practices are to our individual tastes or predilictions, or not.

However - there's not a lot of point discussing things if everyone agrees with each other.

ETA when I say that most of us don't (IMO) believe in UFOs, I mean of course that we don't (as a borad generality) believe in UFOs being alien starships or similar things. That there are things (or aparitions, clouds, meteors, planets...) which people see in the sky and that they fail to identify is another matter - in that sense there are lots of UFOs.

Yes, all tongue and cheek aside you can post whatever you want as long as you abide by the rules which are clearly stickied at the top of this forum. Also remember to place your UFO threads in their proper forum (IE not the Lounge here).

Why haven't you claimed Randi's prize?

Many of the people here have scientific backgrounds. Even among those who do not (myself included), to say that as a group we are skeptical would be a bit of an understatement.

You are more likely to run across people who agree with James Randi than Uri Geller.

With that being said, I am curious as to why you would feature the paranormal so prominently in your intro. Most people here will need lots of extremely detailed physical proof obtained through laboratory conditions before they will even consider most paranormal claims.
There is a small dividing line between the paranormal and religion.

The basis of all religion is belief. The philosophical aspect is that all religion is a concept of paranormal events.

There are many biblical events that relate to UFOs and strange anomaly.

We can take this theory further, as we dwell into the chapters of Eziekel and relate to the different concepts of religion such as reincarnation.

The latter day concept of a four thousand year old belief, is re-introduced into the term that we know as paranormal.

Faith and belief are philosophical debates that centralise around our existence. The 'paranormal calender' of strange events is to understand the abstract of faith.

When we apply reason, we are trying to evaluate our beliefs.

The concept of this can be categorised in two.

1) The Logical Concept
2) The Spiritual God Concept.

Whether we believe aliens to be angels or UFOs to be pillars of fire, is hardly the point, as interpretation means little because the concept is the same. Depending on what rung on the ladder we are, depends on our view point. Little bearing on what modernisation does to change the events.

Yet I am not here to make converts, as I understand that the same ploy applies full width.

thats putting two different categories of things in the same sentence.

What do you mean 'don't believe in'. You don't believe that there are spirit guides or homosexuals? Or maybe you disapprove of spirit guides and homosexuals? or do you not believe in spirit guides and disapprove of homosexuals, or vice versa?

In other words, huh?
I don't believe in the practicing of homosexuals. Nor do I believe in the abundance of Mediums employing spirit guides. Many spiritual forums are based on free love and anything goes.

Hi George!
Welcome to IIDB. I'm a Martian.
I believe in unidentified flying objects too. And unidentified sitting objects, and unidentified falling objects, and unidentified moving objects, and unidentified floating objects...not so sure about space-faring extraterrestrial intelligences who have nothing better to do with their time than come down to Earth and harass random Terrans. But it'll be interesting seeing your evidence.
...Pass the popcorn...

Welcome in Georgek , I wouldn't mind seeing your UFO pictures. The moderators here aren't heavy handed, just be polite and refrain from personal insults.
Hmmmm.....so I am sensing correctly!

It amazes me how little people have changed over thousands of years.

Mockery and humiliation are the key ingredients of debunking other peoples beliefs.

Yet in their time, it could be argued that they LISTENED and THEN they were stoned.

So maybe things have gotten worse..

Maybe this is the reason why some people have experiences and others have not. Perhaps their own narrow mindedness is the key element to the persons evolution. That stops them progressing. By first getting to know the person and then learning to judge them, must surely be the way forward.

Guess what, they do. I myself have had sexual encounters with people of the same gender. I can assure you that many dozens, even hundreds of people practice homosexuality. You don't need to deny belief it it, it really happens, and it's quite enjoyable. If you do not believe in the practice of homosexuality, just go to www.google.com and search for "gay porn." You will be pleasantly surprised to see that homosexuality is real!
