This is so blatantly erroneous. Even Scholars agree that the Jesus of the NT is the Jesus of FAITH.

And look at the written evidence in Existing Codices.

Jesus was described as the Child of a Holy Ghost.

Mt 1:18 -
Quote:
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise..... his mother...... was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
And further, the author of gLuke described the process.

We KNOW how the MYTH was made based on gLuke.

Luke 1:26-38 -
Quote:
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin .....And the angel came in unto her, and said...... behold, thou shalt.... bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS..... Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee, therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God....
In the NT, Jesus was the Son of God born of the Holy Ghost and a Virgin.

And, we will examine "On the Flesh of Christ" to verify what Christians believed about the nature of Jesus.

"On the Flesh of Christ"
Quote:
....Now, that we may give a simpler answer, it was not fit that the Son of God should be born of a human father's seed, lest, if He were wholly the Son of a man, He should fail to be also the Son of God, and have nothing more than a Solomon or a Jonas, — as Ebion thought we ought to believe concerning Him.

In order, therefore, that He who was already the Son of God— of God the Father's seed, that is to say, the Spirit— might also be the Son of man, He only wanted to assume flesh, of the flesh of man without the seed of a man; for the seed of a man was unnecessary for One who had the seed of God.

As, then, before His birth of the virgin, He was able to have God for His Father without a human mother, so likewise, after He was born of the virgin, He was able to have a woman for His mother without a human father.....
Jesus was considered the Child of the Holy Ghost and God Incarnate by Christians of antiquity.

The NT is about the Jesus of FAITH not the "historical Jesus" and HJers began to argue AGAINST the Jesus of FAITH as found in the Existing Codices over 200 years ago and still have NOTHING but blatant erroneous uncorroborated assertions as you just made.

Doherty is NOT responsible for the over 200 years of failure by HJers to produce a CREDIBLE HJ from reliable sources of antiquity.

Well, Abe, you're about the smallest name there is, and my ass is still securely in place.

The debate will come once Ehrman has published his book, though it may not follow the course you would prefer.

Earl Doherty
What course would it follow?

Well you'll need some evidence. You presented none.
You offered an exchange of insults, not a conversation. Ask me for something concrete and I will happy to comply.
You butted in. So don't twist that and make out that I was exchanging insults with you.
You came out with the insult. So why not quit making excuses, and provide some evidence for your assertion.

I didn't claim that you were exchanging insults with me. I did butt in, in an internet forum that's known as contributing to the discussion.

Now which of my assertions would you like evidence for?

This one of course. The only one I pointed out.

It's present throughout the entire corpus of early Christianity, judge. That is Earl's point.

Please keep to the topic and avoid this pointless exchange of borderline insults.
