Well you can call yourself a "cherry-picking historicist".

Yeah, at least that would be more accurate.

I don't have you "on ignore," but I do "ignore" you, most of the time, in the old-fashioned meaning of the word. I don't put anyone "on ignore," regardless of how annoying they may be, because it may hurt my ability to follow the conversations. If you would like to talk about things outside BC&H, where maybe you are not a rabid zealot, I imagine that there would be little reason to ignore you.

It would appear to me that HJ theories suck.

It is most absurd to put forward the notion that God-fearing Jews KNEW for about thirty years that Jesus was just a man who behaved crazy-like and was executed for blasphemy and then the very Jews believed that the blasphemer was EQUAL to their God, was the Creator of heaven and earth and that without his resurrection ALL mankind would remain in sin.

The HJ theory sucks.

The MJ theory is FAR more compatible with the evidence that Jesus was just a story written after the Fall of the Temple and believed to be true by the DUPED since no historical source external of apologetics can account for a Messiah called Jesus.

The Jews were looking for an expected Messiah. A messiah was the most SIGNIFICANT expectation for Jews, and when he came NO JEW saw him except "PAUL" after he was ALREADY dead and resurrected.

What utter nonsense. HJ theories suck.

Acharya appears to be right.

Jesus was a MYTH.

Even so-called Christians today believe in Jesus of the NT without any proof whatsoever of an actual existence. Belief is ALL that is required.

I wasn't talking about that, but it is as though you can't possibly hold yourself back from variations of the same old sermon. I compared you to those tireless yelling street preachers, but maybe whatever is going on inside their heads really is the same thing that is going on inside your head, only a different medium and message. Have you ever posted outside the BC&H forum? Have you tried having a conversation about, say, the beginning of the universe? The theory of evolution? The right to bear arms? The World Cup? Touchdown Jesus getting struck by lightning? If you have, how does it feel? Do you feel a strong desire to keep proselytizing here in BC&H the reasonable obvious truth of how Christianity really began?

But, you have invented an HJ from guesswork. You keep saying the same thing over and over. How many times have you posted IN DEFENSE of your HJ.

Your HJ theory sucks.

You cannot develop a theory based on imagination and then believe what you have IMAGINED is the best explanation.

You first MUST get DATA about an historical Jesus and show that it was far more likely that Jesus MUST have existed for there to have been Jesus believers or that there would have been no stories about Jesus if he did not exist.

And added to that, you must show that Jews who KNEW Jesus was just a man for about thirty years and a blasphemer would have worshiped him as a God, the Creator of heaven and earth.

You cannot show that it was more probable Jesus existed, that there would have been no Jesus stories with an actual human Jesus or that Jews would have worshiped a man as a God and the creator of heaven and earth.

Acharya's claim that Jesus was a myth is compatible with evidence from antiquity.

Justin Martyr and Trypho the Jew will tell you.

First Apology XXI
Quote:
.. And when we say also that the Word, who is the first-birth of God, was produced without sexual union, and that He, Jesus Christ, our Teacher, was crucified and died, and rose again, and ascended into heaven, we propound nothing different from what you believe regarding those whom you esteem sons of Jupiter....

"Dialogue with Trypho" LXVII
Quote:
...Moreover, in the fables of those who are called Greeks, it is written that Perseus was begotten of Danae, who was a virgin; he who was called among them Zeus having descended on her in the form of a golden shower.

And you ought to feel ashamed when you make assertions similar to theirs...
The Jesus story was RECOGNISED as having similarities to Greek mythology over 1800 years ago.

Your HJ theory sucks.

Mythicists have been right for hundreds upon hundreds of years even before Acharya.

Mythcists have HISTORY to back them up.

Yeah, maybe 90% of my recent posts are here in the BC&H forum, defending HJ like you said, with a few posts scattered on the outside. My interests have migrated over the years, from apologetics, to creation vs. evolution, to atheist activism, to here, defending the mainline secular historical theory of early Christianity, all the time maintaining an interest in politics and trivial humor and philosophy. I did a search for your posts. You have thousands more posts than me, and you have indeed posted occasionally on the outside. I would say maybe more than 99% of your posts are here in BC&H. And, yeah, so many of them look the same, repetitions of the same narrow set of opinions that you take to be obvious facts, in bold font, in capital letters, and so on. How do you explain that? What I mean to ask is: what is the psychology, what is making the wheels turn inside your head that is making you do that?

No. You are a self admitted myth maker.
