We live in a free, democratic nation that is actually FREE and DEMOCRATIC

Americans (US) live in a beaurocratic nation of secular laws governed by Christian people. They have a right not to comply with the Bible, but as with all nations, the voice of the leader trumps the rights of the people.

It's unfortunate, and even as a theist I would prefer...in fact especially as a theist, one interested in matters concerning God, I would prefer that all sides are given the respect they deserve.

In fact, I can't see that America benefits by closetting people from the likes of Dawkins, other to uphold a faux religious community.

Can we please stop with the ridiculous anti-American tirade here? The stuff you're saying here clearly shows you have no clue what life here in America is like. We're democratic, and free. The Xians in the government don't go around pushing their interpretation of reality into the law, almost at all (but when they try it's all over the NEWS). It's not enough to really be noticeable in the slightest and usually gets immediately shot down. The reason the show isn't being shown over here is incredibly simple. The people here aren't interested in such a program and thus it's not going to be shown. Making it sound like a government conspiracy, done by the fundamentalists who rule our nation is patently silly. I love ya AT, but seriously, that was a ridiculous statement.

Not quite true. It hasn't made it's way across the pond YET, because that simply takes a while, rather like the lag time between a movie being released to the theaters and on DVD. We don't get all the UK channels here, even on cable/satellite. I've very confident that we'll be seeing that show within a few months.

But you are quite correct on it not being due to a conspiracy.

FACT - The senate is moving to pass a Bill that will require all jury members to be of a suitable faith (ie - Christian)

FACT - The Bush administration has called for all books of an 'inappropriate, anti-theistic nature' to be burned
