According to Webster's...

Slander (which is Synonymous with Slur) means "A false and malicious statement or report about someone. "

So, technically.. You did slur AL name as well as Mhatten, and JL by simply stating the comments.

Quite simply, NO! This isn't CF. I have no other Mod stories really anyway, I was just relating an incident that happened some 9 months or so ago.
Actually, Erwin as well as several other Admins read this forum... so, making a statement about a moderator that does not provide evidence can be considered false~slander. As well, Mods have a rule about confidentiality in which they are not allowed to discuss their actions with members or outside of CF unless the actions are with that member... though I personally have no idea of the direct wording or exact understanding of their confidentiality clauses.

So, a mod breaking confidentiality on another site, can be reprimanded on CF.

Hold it there.

I don't know if the statements I made were false. There was no malice intended.
So they were not slanderous. By the way slander is not strictly in a dictionary sense synonymous with slur.

I slurred or slandered nobody. If I categorically said 'mhatten said Annabel was a no good dyke' then yes that would be slanderous. I did not do that and only mentioned names when I was asked to. I also admitted I could well be mistaken.

You guys need to comprehend the written word a little better.

Good. I doubt Erwin really has the time. He has always struck me as a bit of a dim bulb and not clued in with CF except keeping it alive server wise.

Do you folks understand that message boards have zero rights, aywhere. I always got a laugh when ID4H said he was going to report me to my ISP. Do you know what ISP's would do with such a request. Never even give it a second thought, that's what.

You stated
Quote:
I was banned by a Mod because you complained about me mentioning homosexuality. The Mod told me you complained.

Then I was informed that out of spite for you getting into trouble over such issues that you were going around reporting such posts out of spite.

I don't know if it's true but that is what I was told.
AL stated that the statements were FALSE.

Therefore, according to Webster's.. You SLANDERED her name!

And how does AL know that?????

She was not privy to the conversations.

She can deny she was doing this - AND I BELIEVE HER ACTUALLY - but she cannot deny that I was told she was.

Hence it ws NOT SLANDER.

Default Final Post on this from moi.

Annabel Lee I am sorry I called you an idiot.

I did not mean to slur anyone. I was asked my memory - and I gave that as best I could. Tough cookies that it mentioned a name you feel I am mistaken about. I may have been wrong but I never said mhatten out of any reason except that was my memory. Tough if ya don't like it. I'm not apologising for that.

Wow, can we all calm down already?

Shannon: Chi admits he was wrong, he doesn't feel he slandered anyone because the intent wasn't there. That's a common reading of the word slander. In a legal sense slander is spoken only, anything here would be libel. But the point is he has admitted he was wrong in his assumptions. The mods here have addressed the flaming, we can all move on.

Chi: It does take two to tango. Continuing to respond is only throwing fuel on the fire. If we all just simply move on this thread will grow quickly and all this will be lost and there is no reason to keep harping on it. There's no reason to keep going over what was done and said because it's pretty much over at this point.

How about taking a deep breath and finding a new topic?

I agree. I only came on here today to post an apology to Annabel Lee. I just get pissed off at being called a slanderer or liar.
