The bond between the God of the old testament, and a sign of their covenant was that, since God rested on the 7th day after his creation of everything, his people were to rest on the seventh day and do no work of any kind. The day was Holy to Yahweh, that God. If you look in any dictionary you will see Sunday is the first day of the week, and to rest on the day God began creation, instead of the day representing his rest, is a slap in the face to that God. Also, the second to last sentence in the Hebrew Bible was reminding his people to remember the whole law given to Moses. Malachi Quote:
The Hebrew law could not be changed by a Pagan Roman Eemperor. |

My point is this - I doubt you could count back in seven day increments for 3,500 years and verify that this Saturday, Oct. 15, should be a Saturday from the starting date in 1,000 BCE. If you could perform these calendrics, maybe tomorrow should be a Tuesday.
So, for 7th day adventists to say "we worship on the correct day, Saturday" is a hoot. God could be saying "boy are you guys wrong. You've messed up the calendar so bad you really worshiping on a Wednesday." |
