It is relevant.
The bond between the God of the old testament, and a sign of their covenant was that, since God rested on the 7th day after his creation of everything, his people were to rest on the seventh day and do no work of any kind. The day was Holy to Yahweh, that God. If you look in any dictionary you will see Sunday is the first day of the week, and to rest on the day God began creation, instead of the day representing his rest, is a slap in the face to that God.

Quote:
Exodus 31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
I think the "forever" and "perpetual covenant" makes it relevant. As long as Sunday is the first day of the week, Saturday will be the Sabbath.

Also, the second to last sentence in the Hebrew Bible was reminding his people to remember the whole law given to Moses. Malachi
Quote:
4 Remember3 ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded14 unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments.

The Hebrew law could not be changed by a Pagan Roman Eemperor.

saiah Chapter 30

1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt
the same would be said about Rome.

My point is this - I doubt you could count back in seven day increments for 3,500 years and verify that this Saturday, Oct. 15, should be a Saturday from the starting date in 1,000 BCE. If you could perform these calendrics, maybe tomorrow should be a Tuesday.

So, for 7th day adventists to say "we worship on the correct day, Saturday" is a hoot. God could be saying "boy are you guys wrong. You've messed up the calendar so bad you really worshiping on a Wednesday."
