Inflame the crowds? im sorry but Romans had a history of much more then just inflaming them.

How about the Roman guard that urinated in front of them all causing deaths of thousands of Jews trampled to death.

Romans didnt care, they would set a example when needed without blining a eye. Sending in a goon squad at night as reported to get a trouble maker to avoid a riot seems to have worked.

But there's no record of this happening in Jesus' case.

This is how Jesus grew up according to Josephas.

http://www.josephus.org/causesOfWar.htm#judas

Since the people received their words with pleasure, this attempt to strike boldly proceeded to a great height, and so all sorts of misfortunes sprang from these men, and the nation was infected with this doctrine to a degree beyond words.
One violent war came upon us after another, and we lost our friends which used to alleviate our pains; there were also very great robberies and murder of our principal men. This was done in pretense indeed for the public welfare, but in reality for the hopes of gain to themselves; whence arose seditions, and from them murders of men, which sometimes fell on those of their own people, (by the madness of these men towards one another, while their desire was that none of the adverse party might be left,) and sometimes on their enemies.

What's this "believe"? Your question should be, what kind of evidence is there?

The answer is very little positive evidence if any, and truckloads of negative evidence and forgeries.

Trajan apparently crucified 2,000 Jews of the town Emmaus c.102 CE

Well the resurrected Jesus figure first appears at the town of Emmaus.

Is that a coincidence?
