Congratulations, Gizmo.

Didn't you know? There is a First Runner Up prize to the one who, before any others can take to the task, effectively displays the moxie to argue with "I do not know."

He is you, and you is him. Rock on, my fine furry friend.

Now granted, it is a bit less grandiose than Talking Rain's prize package, but it is heartfelt, and perhaps, is equally as useful.

Gizmo, your all expense-paid prize package includes a tin of soothing salve, as well as a $.59 bag of spiral peppermints -- each autographed by me, The Kang.

Send me your address in a PM, and meanwhile, I'll be praying with everything in me that sending spiral peppermints across the ocean won't cost me more than 85 bucks.

From the Jungles of Soothing Salve,

Kang Louie

Question

Apparently, KingLouie's decision is final. Well it is his contest and he is supplying the prize so I guess you can't argue with that!

It is ironic though, that however well <I don't know> works in other contexts, those three little words are not sufficent to clearly and unambiguously answer the question in this thread.

Did Talking Rain mean: -

"The answer to your question is <I don't know>"

or was he simply saying: -

"I don't know the answer to your question"

Both responses can be abreviated to <I don't know> but no way are they equivelent. So which response actually won and where is the evidence that Talking Rain meant that one?

Oh, it didn't really matter which way it was meant Tubal Cain -- I was looking for it in any incarnation.

However, for what it's worth, I believe it was an attempt to answer the question at hand. I presume this because he had attempted to answer it before, on the first page of the thread.

"You are right."

I sure liked that one. But now that I consider it, I hope he wasn't trying to suck up for the rubbers.

Ah well. If he was, maybe he'll choke on the friggin gummi worms.

What? You mean "I know..." and "I don't know..." are both the best answer!

OK
Like I said before

Default The scumbags have arrived

"I don't know." was a submission to the contest, and I knew it was the winner as soon as I thought of it. If it hadn't won I would have questioned The Kang's sanity....uh more.

Anyway, I have the prize so the contest is over.

Thanks for the worms Kang and the raincoats you sent for them. I will think of you when I use them....oh wait...no I won't. That would be weird.
