Hola!
I feel that God was unfair to Moses when He told him that Moses could not enter "the promised land". Moses broke his walking stick in a fit of anger. i think Moses was more old and stressed out.(Note, I might follow the storyline of 'The Prince of Egypt' movie a bit). 1.) He was adopted by the royal family of Egypt, raised in their ways and customs and was given high authority in the kingdom. 2.) He was cast away (or ran away) from Egypt for killing an Egyptian. He moves to Midian and gets married to a woman named Zipporah, daughter of Jethro, a herder and trader of wealth. Midian is no Egypt, but he is happy herding sheep. 3.) He's about 60, a sheep herder for many years when God calls him to return to Egypt. He doesn't want to go, but is forced to. Can't tell God no. 4.) Returns to Egypt. Plagues caused by God forces Pharoh's (adopted brother) to release the Hebrew slaves................. 5.) Walks around 40 years in the Sinai desert with thousands of people who are hungry, complaining, ungodly and weary. God is so mad with these people that He is forcing this long walk, probably in endless circles because the Sinai peninsula can be crossed by foot surely in a month. Moses has to wait for the first generation to die off before he allows the second generation the keys to Israel. 6.) Gets the 10 commandments from the mountain, then goes to the valley to see these people worshipping a golden cow. The poor man wandered in the desert for 40 years with a bunch of would be Hindu bovine worshippers. 7.) Loses his sister and wife on the trail. All this work, the 40 year hike, leading faithfully a flock of awful people. Picking up the 10 Commandments, everything he did, and God would not allow him to set foot in Israel. God could of at least let the man step foot on the land then strike him dead. He deserved no less in my opinion. Senor |

So, instead speaking to the rock he hits it?!
I really must do some research (albeit, perhaps, after university) on the origins of this God!!! |
