This sounds like a "Preparation H" commercial!

Is this open to all players, or just to your friend whose post you quoted?

I'd guess open to all, on the grounds that the invitee hasn't shown up, or responded to my invitation to discuss xianity.

I wonder why he hasn't shown

Realising he's in over his depth?

Realising he's over his depth subconsciously, and coming up with a ratinale for not showing, and coming up with something like he's put his putitive immortal soul in jeopardy by being her?

Seeking advise from parent/pastor/whatever and being warned off?

I spose that ultimately it's Pervy's decision whether it's open to all or exclusive.

David B (fears that if it's not open to all, it will be a very short thread)

Remember... HT is here to "persuade the uninformed."

That must not be Pervy.

Well, I was trying to draw Havelock out into actually discussing things, rather than posting his one-liners and assertions - especially since he had come here explicitly saying that his purpose was to persuade people (hence the title of this thread).

If you want to have a go yourself, though, then feel free. To give you a clue as to where I stand now (so we know the starting point)...

I'm currently a strong-atheist with respect to Judaeo-Christian-Islamic version of God, and a weak-atheist/strong-agnostic about a more general non-interventionist Deistic version of God.

I spent nearly a decade as a Christian when I was younger, and when it comes to things like Biblical knowledge and the history of Christianity and Judaism, I put myself firmly in the middle ground. I definitely know much, much more than the average person-in-the-street, but some of our more well-read BC&H scholars can put me to shame. My scientific knowledge is about the same.

My weak point is probably formal philosophy. Whilst I have a good grasp of logic and so on, when people start throwing around lots of philosophical or epistemological jargon I tend to have to reach for a dictionary.
