Like the hydra, the shroud people have again reasserted that the shroud of Turis is Jesus' first century burial cloth.

This time, a vatican person says there is writing on it that says "Jesus". http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091120/...hroud_of_turin Does anyone know of any tests done to confirm this, or of images of the supposed "writing". Plus, even given the huge concession that this is writing, isn't it unsurprising that a medieval hoaxter might scrawl "Jesus" on his hoax? Let's see how long this lasts.... Equinox |

This good story enlightens my afternoon.

Remember that the so-called Shroud of Turin was made at Lirey in Champagne (France). |

The reporter did a good job of interviewing skeptics.

Still is a cool way to get a monogrammed burial shroud.

ROME – A Vatican researcher claims a nearly invisible text on the Shroud of Turin proves the authenticity of the artifact revered as Jesus' burial cloth. The claim made in a new book by historian Barbara Frale drew immediate skepticism from some scientists, who maintain the shroud is a medieval forgery. |

Wait, but I saw a picture of a grove of trees that spell out Allah in arabic and there was that meat somewhere that spelled out Allah in the gristle and...and...

What would be funny is if they found text that said "Made in Nazareth". |

Hey, invisible text proves the authenticity of something that belonged to a guy who never existed.

Those zany Vatican researchers. What'll they think of next? |
