Cool Photographers Out There...?

Post your best pic ever - let's see how it's done by the pros.

Definitely not a pro, but I like how this one turned out:

This is really subjective. I have two that I love the most, but my wife has two others that she can't decide between to hang on the bedroom wall. We may end up doing both... My mother loves the florals that I take of her gardens, but everything else is just OK with her. I love landscapes and nature shots - I can't shoot portraits worth a damn!

I like for friends and family to choose my "best" work. I try not to say things like "I really love this shot - what do you think?" Instead, I just talk about where I was, what it was like in the area, and how I felt about it. I try give them a taste of what it was like there at the time. I think the idea of "This is my best work - love it too" is a bit resumptuous. I'd rather do a gallery with 50 or so images that represent a subject, ones I think are the "best" of the 1000+ or so that may have been taken, and let everyone pick out their own favorites.

I think these are the ones that get about equal comments when people see them. The first two are the "striking" ones, and the second two are the ones people like to just stare at for a long time.

My two favorites are ones from the Southwest:

Raven at Cedar Ridge on South Kaibab Trail, Grand Canyon NP, Arizona

Double-O Arch, Arches NP, Utah

My wife's favorites are these:

West of Yaki Point, Grand Canyon NP

From the Watchtower, Grand Canyon NP

DB_Hunter, I really like the first one with the raven. Good composition.

Here are a few more of mine:

1800's era building in Scipio, Utah.

High Desert Valley just outside of Wendover, Nevada.

Abandoned gas station in Jackson, Wyoming.

As you can probably tell, I like strong lines and bold colors (and a subtle western subtext).

I'm no pro, but I got into wildlife photography over the winter. Here are some of my better pics so far:
