Default Attack on freedom of thought and speech.

I was engaged in a forum inside an online sport manager game and the issue of darwinism came up.

During this I reffered to an unspecified god as " an invisible monster in space" and a zealous moderator banned me from the conference for defaming religion and religious figures.

Now I wonder if I can find anybody who believes this attack on freedom of thought and speech is well founded? Should people be punished for referring to a god as a monster? Is it legal to punish people for this?

The organisation desiring to fight freedom of speech and thought is Swedish. www.hattrick.org.

If it was a privately owned forum then the owner or its representative can ban anyone for anything. And you can look for other venues to express your views.

Thanks. I realize the org. as a God has surpreme powers and isn't accountable to anybody, but the idea was to ask if anybody found the punishment (forum quaranteene) ethically correct or a abuse of powers and neglect of appreciation of the right to freedom of thought and expression?

Can you in todays international world say god is a monster?

Thanks; I do realize that.

But this is of no consequence to the question I am asking. Please feel free to express your thoughts about the question embedded in it.

Conflicting freedoms. Freedom of association vs freedom of speech.

Yes exactly. That is the issue. You are correct.

What do you think of the question. Is it in todays world permissable to call god a monster or is it punishable blasfemy given the issues discussed on this site.

I do this all the time and haven't been banned from apologetics.com yet. Seems some boards are more tolerant than others.

It is as permissable to say god is a monster (which I have done before) as it is to say athiests are inherently evil. I probably wouldn't associate with a person who said atheists are inherently evil one too many times.

Yes, absolutely; I am surprised to find such a zealous moderator in a fantasy soccer management game which is quite a relaxed activity. Specially when the world revertebrates with defense of the freedom of thought and speech and a moderator goes banning even more than the muslims do.

The example shows how precarious the defense of our freedoms is, and how we have to fight continously even in the simplest of forums to retain the right won by the thousands burned on the stake for expressing their honest minds and thoughts.
The matter is by no way trivial.
