Gee, what a nice sentiment. And atheists claim Christians are hateful. Do you see me wishing death on you? I hope to see you in Heaven one day. Too bad your love for humanity only extends to those who agree with you.

But to say life is of no importance? How rare it is in the Galaxy and you think it is insignificant?
Thanks for twisting my words. I never said it wasn't important, i just said its not the most important.

No way buddy! Take your pathetic shit off to eternity and leave us who truly live to our task of making humanity a better creature.
Yeah, and improving humanity involves wishing people to commit suicide. And I actually did go through a hopeless time in my life, and attempted suicide twice. But of course, you don't think about other peoples feelings.

You would have died in the Flood like a pathetic worm too...waving to your homosexual, inscestuous, drunkard of a boat building friend who won't lift a finger to help you...wave bye bye now and imagine drowning...Now watch as you sink deeper into the water as the air leaves you lungs...notice those tiny bloated-blue faces with bulging eyes sinking to the bottom with you, those are dead babies....
And your point? If I was as evil as the people described in the Bible, and I was stupid enough to ignore God for 120 freakin years, I deserve His punishment.

Quote:
But that's okay to you isn't it. Life doesn't matter...it's eternity that matters...not those children, not you, not me....
At least I have hope that the millions of children in the world dying and starving will eventually be happy, and cease suffering. At least I have hope of the ultimate savior who will rid the world of pain and suffering. Whats your hope? We will never cure world hunger. We will never stop disease. In the atheistic world, children will die and suffer endlessly as long as the Earth is still here. Thats a heck of a lot more depressing than the children eventually getting to be happy and experience joy and love, instead of hunger and disease.

That's all you have is your irrational hope <insult deleted - liv>. You have nothing to back it up except a collection of books and your faith. With <insult deleted - liv> like you in the world, we may never cure disease or end hunger. If more people worked toward the goal of ending suffering on earth, we'd at least get alot closer than we would with all the rationally-challenged individuals like you sitting around waiting for the freakin' rapture.

Magus covered that. The babies were innocent, but they were going to grow up in an evil environment, and since they had no free will they would also have become evil. So it's better for them to spend an eternity in limbo.

Stupid shit like this pisses me off far more than the sign quoted in the OP.

Its the old, tired misconception that anyone who doesn't believe in Jebus is horribly evil.

Anyone who doesn't kneel in a church every Sunday really wants everyone to suffer.

People who don't take each and every single word of the Bybull as literally true are wicked sinners who hate everyone but themselves and wish death on believers.

You wanna know why I'll never be a Christian? People like this. People whose condescending "I pity you because you're not one of us" attitude makes me almost physically ill.

You want to know what I hope?

I hope that someday, blind allegiance to a particular religious creed will fade, and along with it, the idea that everyone who doesn't follow that creed deserves to suffer.

Maybe sometime in the future, religious fundamentalism will be a thing of the past, and we can all rest assured in the knowledge that we won't wind up like the countless millions murdered in the name of GOD.

Lighten up.

We shall never cure disease or end hunger. New diseases evolve, and the resources of the planet fluctuate constantly. Disease and hunger are an unalterable fact of this changing universe.

An unattainable goal. Suffering can only be minimised, not eradicated completely. There will always be some people who suffer.

Lighten up

I'm not so sure that lightening up is the appropriate response.

The remark made on the church sign in the OP was an attack on "experts." It's a type of anti-intellectualism which is peculiar to Xians. The problem isn't that people think they are "so smart" it's that people have any value at all.
If you missed this misanthropy in the church sign Magus55 was good enough to spew the same venom for us. It's a fine example of the fundamental immorality of Christianity.
