That's all you have is your irrational hope <insult deleted - liv>. You have nothing to back it up except a collection of books and your faith. With <insult deleted - liv> like you in the world, we may never cure disease or end hunger. If more people worked toward the goal of ending suffering on earth, we'd at least get alot closer than we would with all the rationally-challenged individuals like you sitting around waiting for the freakin' rapture.

Magus covered that. The babies were innocent, but they were going to grow up in an evil environment, and since they had no free will they would also have become evil. So it's better for them to spend an eternity in limbo.

Its the old, tired misconception that anyone who doesn't believe in Jebus is horribly evil. Anyone who doesn't kneel in a church every Sunday really wants everyone to suffer. People who don't take each and every single word of the Bybull as literally true are wicked sinners who hate everyone but themselves and wish death on believers. You wanna know why I'll never be a Christian? People like this. People whose condescending "I pity you because you're not one of us" attitude makes me almost physically ill. You want to know what I hope? I hope that someday, blind allegiance to a particular religious creed will fade, and along with it, the idea that everyone who doesn't follow that creed deserves to suffer. Maybe sometime in the future, religious fundamentalism will be a thing of the past, and we can all rest assured in the knowledge that we won't wind up like the countless millions murdered in the name of GOD. |

Lighten up
I'm not so sure that lightening up is the appropriate response. The remark made on the church sign in the OP was an attack on "experts." It's a type of anti-intellectualism which is peculiar to Xians. The problem isn't that people think they are "so smart" it's that people have any value at all. If you missed this misanthropy in the church sign Magus55 was good enough to spew the same venom for us. It's a fine example of the fundamental immorality of Christianity. |
