As for CJ...he's nothing more than a blowhard these days.

Hats off to you Catholic posters as far as read in the thread, it was handled with aplomb!

So many people who use the OD route in all seriousness, feel 24 hours later they are so glad it didn't work. Suicide is often a moment of unbearable pain combined with a fast lethal method and nothing anyone, friend, colleague, worker, family, could have done to stop it.
But the guilt that is left is also almost unbearable...
Yeah, I know two girls who have tried the wrist method. One, the doctors think as a way to get attention because she didn't do it in a way that would have killed her or needed anything more than a stitch or two (thank goodness!). The other realized after she cut herself she didn't want to die and went to find her roommates to get help. Fortunately she got help in time and is fine, well as fine as can be expected. Luckily both have now realized there are other ways to get help, no matter how shitty their lives are and how big the shit is. I just wish everyone could come to that realization.

My first girlfriend in high school did that but it was all part of a pattern of a downward spiral including alcohol, drugs, and stupidity. I had to fite emotional balckmail to break it off. We saw her brother last summer at the 7/11 when we went to go move my parents up North. He said she is still drinking and has no contact with their parents. She was demoted from patrol deputy to jailer by the Sheriff for among other things drinking on duty. Her brother turned out okay, but their parents are about the two most emotionally distant parents I've ever seen. Her Dad is an SBC Pastor and well-respected but not exactly Mr. Warmth either. Her mom works as a secretary at the courthouse and according to my parents always sharing confidential information with people.

I'm glad you were able to fight the emotional blackmail. Not just glad, but proud I guess. That's a really tough spot to find yourself in.
