Default Anyone Feel Like Watching "The Passion of the Christ"?

I never saw "The Passion of the Christ" when it came out because as a non-believer it seemed pretty uninteresting to me. But I've always been kind of curious about it. Lately I've actually started considering renting it, and this weekend is looking like a good time to do so. I'm fairly certain that I'm not going to like the movie very much--though I'm trying to keep an open mind--but I'm very interested in watching from a kind of sociological point of view.

Are there any other infidels out there who might be interested in watching the movie sometime between now and the end of the coming weekend so that a small group of us could metaphorically "meet back here" to discuss it starting on, say, Monday?

If you're interested, let me know. If I don't get any affirmative responses I may go find something better to do with my time this weekend.

Sorry, not interested in torture and snuff movies without any other redeeming value. Schindler's List had horrific inhumanity in it, but it also definitely had some redeeming values. Watching some guy get tortured for two hours, then finally killed just doesn't do it for me.

That's the movie Mel Gibson directed, am I right? I might steal it from WalMart if you'd like to talk about it, but they've been watching me pretty close lately [by they I mean WalMart, not the Guv'mint you can't stop them from watching you] I'd be more inclined to watch 'The Road Warrior' that Mel was in and discuss the hidden Traditional Catholic messages that are in it, they are rampant thru out the movie and in my honest opinion, much more captivating than another Jesus died for your sins movie, besides, didn't Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) say it all already? Although that's got hordes of subliminal messages in it as well.

Then again I might just be up for it, because of that encouraging response...
I'm all for free speech and all, yet... oh well lead by example, some people think, they don't think enough

I love "Road Warrior"! Go steal "The Passion of the Christ" so we can compare and contrast the two movies.

I'll try, might have to go in disguise, though to pull this off, or rent it.

I'd rather have experimental oral surgery.

Meh, I already watched it (fairly recently, actually). There's too much violence in it to have any real meaning, and not enough violence to be a good meaningless violent flick.

I spent a lot of the beginning of the movie trying to figure out who was who... maybe I'm just stupid, then.

I'm just a sucker for any movie that's set in the Greco/Roman period, so I enjoyed it...scenery,costumes,etc.

I watched it as a believer....I wonder what it would be like as an unbeliever?
