Thumbs down Walter ReMine – ARN’s Resident Hypocrite

I find myself banned yet again from ARN. I detailed the events of the first time in another thread. I was apparently banned the first time for no other reason than my user name: “Fedmahn Kassad?, which is just a character from the book “Hyperion?. I had some trouble getting some answers out of them regarding the reason for the banning, but I was finally told that if I chose a different user name then I could post.

So, I registered again as “Texas?. I parried a few times with ReMine, but as is his typical style, he soon focused on my anonymity. This has been a tactic of his for many years; when he finds he has trouble addressing the arguments, he will bring up the fact that you are merely an anonymous poster. In doing so, he hopes to cast aspersions on your arguments. He did it a couple of times at ARN, and was warned. However, he continued to do so even after being warned.

Imagine how surprised I was (not really) to find out that ReMine was doing the same thing even as he was chastising others for it. You can see this here:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...47d52af811547b

Check out anonymous poster “IThinkso? as he defends ReMine and refers to him in the 3rd person. But look here:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...cbf35e116b23cb

Turns out that this anonymous poster IS ReMine. Since he has been harping on my anonymity at ARN, I naturally pointed out this little bit of hypocrisy in the Haldane's Dilemma thread. I asked if the ARN members would like to defend this behavior. One poster, Mung, suggested that since Walter eventually stopped doing it, that this was the opposite of hypocrisy! (Ignoring of course that even as ReMine is posting anonymously, he complains about anonymous posters on his website). Creationist ethics at their finest.

Anyway, I woke up this morning and checked the board. Several of my posts are gone, and I can’t log in. I checked my e-mail and found the following message:

Quote:
ARN Moderator 6 just sent you (Texas) a Private Message at ARN Board.

You are being notified because you are have instructed us to send you a
notification each time someone sends you a private message. You can disable
this automatic notification in your profile settings on the board.

Here is the message sent by ARN Moderator 6:

Subject: Your account.
--------------------------------------------------

We have a zero tolerance policy in our feature threads. Don't attack other
posters or your account will be revoked. There will be no other warnings.

--------------------------------------------------

To view this private message, click here.

Please do not reply to this email. The person sending you the private email
did not send this notification. To reply to the private message, you must do
so from the message board.
Emphasis mine. So, to reply to the message, I must do so from the message board. But I am either banned or suspended, so I can’t reply on the message board. Nor can I log in and read the PM sent by Moderator 6. Why send a message only to suspend or ban your account so you can’t read it? And why on earth do they ban me for pointing out ReMine’s rank hypocrisy? I guess it conveniently means they don’t have to answer for ReMine’s hypocrisy. But I want to at least document it for others as they encounter him.

I've had similar experiences with moderator 6; he'll demand an explanation for something and lock my account so I can't respond. It's very peculiar.

The more fundamental question, in my mind, is whether there exists any forum on the web at which one can discuss 'intelligent design'... uh, intelligently. I mean the topic is interesting; there are some fascinating ideas associated with it (RBH's MDT, for example). But finding a place to do so without the various Salvadors and ReMines appearing is difficult.

Anyone have any ideas?

You still appear to be a registered member.

You will notice Salvador and ReMine are immune to enforcement of the rules.
Evidence: ReMine wasn't banned or suspended for questioning your anonymity. Salvador regularly makes Ad Hom OT remarks - See Response to Salvador - but others are banned for doing so - well questioning Nobody, I mean Mod 6's unequal application of the "rule" may have contributed.
The only reason mturner hasn't been banned is because he's an ID advocate. He's been suspended once and still gets repeated warnings - usually for his anti-Zionist threads
I was suspended once for an exchange with ID BiatchDog and was banned a month later, no warning, nada.
Nobody's a facist pig set up in his own little dictatorship.

If you didn't know, Mod6 is 'Nobody'. Nobody has a long history of double-standards and hypocrisy, not to mention that he is one of the more under-informed IDiots I have encountered. His usual bluster is that he used to be an evolutionist, until he did some 'research' and found out some 'facts.' I've asked him probably a dozen times at a board , The Pizza Parlor (where he posts as 'Junkyardfrog', but also has several sock puppets - ironic, eh?) , and, of course, he will not divulge what his research was or what facts he is referring to.

You mean discussing the issue with level-headed IDists? Not really.

You will also notice that Nobody er Mod6 set up the Sternberg thread premised on that hack job by Klinghoffer.

What a nit.

I noticed that too on some of my earlier posts. But when I attempt to log in, I get:

Sorry, either your membership has not yet been approved or the board administrators have removed your ability to post to this board. We cannot allow you to perform this action as a result.

They didn't tell me whether I was banned or suspended, but they certainly disabled my ability to respond on the board. They also will not answer e-mails asking for an explanation.

Suspended, I think. What you can do is send an email to [email protected] and explain the problem; then usually you get a spate of emails from nobo... uh, mod 6 saying that you can now read your PMs and do respond before reinstatement.

I already did that first thing this morning. No response yet. They didn't respond much the first time they banned me, and when they did they didn't answer any questions as to why I was banned. They just finally said that if I use a different user name I could register again.

Well, if there were any intelligent "Intelligent Design" theorists, you could do so here on Infidels. There's nothing wrong with the forum, only the opposition.

In my opinion, I don't see any reason for ID-ists to not post here other than that they cannot control the discussion and silence the opposition on this board. Without those advantages, they seem to get their asses handed to them on a plate.

Right. So call IIDB "The Swamp" as emotive code for a place you shouldn't want to go, both to communally reinforce the IDologists' sense of justification for their refusal to debate here, and to help socialize newcomers to ARN into this attitude.
