I saw this exact bumpersticker yesterday. God is Pro-Life. God? Are we talking about God-who-drowned-the-world? God-who-killed-the-firstborn-of-Egypt? God-who-wasted-Sodom-and-Gomorrah-with-fire-and-brimstone? GOD? PRO-LIFE? After that shit?
Anyhow, needed to vent. |

I'd say the thing that gives me the most pause about God's alleged pro-life status is the 40-60% of zygotes (fertilized eggs - that magic time when a "new human" is created) that spontaneously abort.

The U.S.A. was founded, in part, on the idea that we have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The founding fathers may have held these truths to be self-evident, but there is nothing in the Bible to suggest such rights. (Perhaps this is why the First Amendment and the First Commandment directly contradict each other.)

Right, Valdemar. "god" is a human fiction; and asserting "him" doesn't accomplish a damn thing. And attributing opinions & behaviours (such as "his" punitive responses) to "god"-the-NON-est, to support human assertions-of-value, is junk.
