There are three solar storms with Aurora for December for the UK according to Mr P Corbyn.
Period 4/7th Gales. Severe Gales 10/11 Period 11/13th Gales. No mention of strength Period 23/26th Gales 9 Poss 10/11 gusting 100mph, Snow and Blizzards in North and East I have left out the direction of flow, the worst period and more notable is Xmas, I feel Mr Corbyn can have a hit if the North and East have major problems to outdoor Events. The UK events on Boxing day are Horse Racing meetings, if all or bar one of the meetings are canceled in England he can have a hit. There are nearly four weeks ahead of us before Xmas, how can you have this sort of prediction without understanding the way solar stroms hit the Earth, let me know what you think he needs to have a hit, the direction of flow should be announced a few days or a week before the Xmas storm. I have put another thread up for Man Made CO2 and Global Warming with Mr P Corbyns proof that Earth Temperaturs and the Suns Solar activity are linked. http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=145496 |

Very strong winds forecast in the UK today (7th), if they get to severe gales 10/11 Piers can have a hit, this is not forecast from the Met yet, and Piers may well have a Miss on this. more to follow soon.

This could be a miss, the jury went out and has not returned, if it is a miss then Piers is down 1-2. I will update this as soon as the UK Met Office report back on the state of play from the 7th.
There is no current rating on the storm expected in the UK for the 11/13th I think it would be best to byepass this period and best to wait for the main December storm forecast for the 23/26th. This is expected to have gale force 10/11 and snow blizzards in the North and East of the UK, major disruption to outdoor events such as horse racing and football fixtures. |

Severe weather warning issued for the UK on the 11th, but as above this will not count with no rating given in advance. Still no news of the storms that went over the UK on the 7th. The storm force rating has not come from the met office, will have look it up in the month end reports issued in the first week of January.

With less than a week to go the UK weather looks as if nothing will happen over xmas other than mild weather and rain. However this is the forecast that Piers produced leading upto xmas. The snow blizzards will take hold over xmas, the UK Met Office cannot forecast this event until its on top of the UK as its solar wind driven, we will have to see how and if it comes. If there are any of you guys in the UK, drop me a line as to who is saying no snow at this moment in time (19th December). Those of us who say snow, are heading to the bookmakers for snow in Scotland (Aberdeen and Edinburgh), and taking good odds for a low risk bet. London and south of Manchester is sadly high risk for snow at xmas and the bookmakers should make on this.

Snow forecast for Scotland on Xmas day, bookmakers odds starting to be reduced. Piers Xmas update follows: -
Stormy surprises for Christmas...SNOW a good bet in Scotland on Xmas Day / Boxing Day...AND Dont trust Supercold claims about this winter! Piers Corbyn astrophysicist of Weather Action long range forecasters has just revealed more about his Christmas snow bets and what is in store for the country for the rest of Winter on the occasion of special event at the Houses of Parliament. Speaking at the premier showing of a highly acclaimed Imperial College student* film about himself and Weather Action, shown at the Houses of Parliament this week to an audience of 50 including Tony Benn, Jeremy Corbyn MP and a number of physicists and experts in risk management, gambling and weather, Piers said: "Northern Britain and traditional forecasters are in for a surprise around 23rd to 26th or 27th December. A ferocious Christmas storm will bring winds way above Met Office expectations from a few days ahead. Local Gusts of 90-100mph are likely and the tail of the low pressure systems will bring strong North winds which are likely to bring snow or blizzards esepcially to the North & East on 25th or 26th of December. "We first said this 4 months ago when I first placed some weather bets with William Hill on snow on Xmas Day and we now confirm that snow is still quite likely in the North on Xmas Day and/or - more likely - Boxing day. Our forecast chance of it happening on Xmas Day is about 50/50. The odds offered by William Hill were a lot better than that so I have placed my main bets*** on Aberdeen and Glasgow and smaller ones in other places. On the rest of the winter he said: "The dire warnings of a very cold winter reported as a consequence of the Met Office long range winter prognosis already seem to be unreliable and indeed will continue to be so. Our long range forecast does include some cold spells in certain places and our customers know when. The publicised supercold alarms should not be relied on. When these alarms are shown to be inadequate the failure will just be explained away by 'global; warming' - another false alarm." THANK YOU |
