The authors of Superman claimed he originated from an unknown planet, Krypton, and was sent to earth on some type of vehicle to earth, where he was found and raised by unknown, supposedly real people. That is the fundamental core of Superman and it is fiction and I do not have to find out if everyone named Clark Kent living in the USA or anywhere in the world, qualifies to be Superman. I do not have to prove that his method of movement through the air is fictitious.

Now, I will tell you that the fundamental core of Jesus the Christ is the virgin birth and it is fiction. Jesus the Christ was sent from an unknown location called heaven, by his unknown father, through the means of an unknown medium, which resulted in his birth and was raised by unknown parents. I do not have to prove that his method of healing his fictitious or that anyone with the name Jesus qualifies to be the Christ.

It is so easy to see that Superman is fiction yet so difficult, by some, to see the very same fictitious core of Jesus the Christ.
Cheese and chalk.

You know who the writers of Superman were, for whom they wrote, the genre and why. You don't know the same about the gospel writers, so yours is a bad example.

As an aside: do you honestly believe that the writers set about concocting a Jesus religion as a fictional effort?

Come on guys and girls, a guy was born without sperm and then rose from the dead, and he chose this one of trillions of billions of planets in the Universe and one poorly technically and primitively organized species to get sweaty about, pull the other one.

Typical lack of insight of THE BIG PICTURE. The earth was the beginning of things and so things had to be set striaght here first, Satan destroyed, all the morality established, etc. Once that occurs likely the entire universe will be populated from the perfected humanity here. The test of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden was a primary test not for Adam and Eve but Satan. Satan was the problem, God wanted to get rid of him, so SIN and DEATH were created as a means to do that for any beings who were willing to put their money where their mouth was and put their actions on the line. By doing this first here, small scale in one place, the benefits can be transferred eternally and universally.

As I said, pull the other one.

When god appears to me I'll believe it, oh of course as I've been told first you have to believe, what an attempted confidence trick and cop out.

What amazes me is how so many normally intelligent people can be so stupid and easily deceived.

Eusebius Pamphilus of Caesarea either wrote or edited the gospels.
The sponsored authors wrote for Constantine, the genre was
ecclesiastical and theological romance, and the purpose of the
fabrication of the Galilaeans was to surplant the Hellenic
culture, gold and riches into bullnecks pocket.

Please look up the word "propaganda" in an unabridged dictionary and then you may have some insight into the motivation of the writers, whoever they were, of that hodgepodge referred to as the bible. Hint: objective reporting wasn't one of them.

I would assume that believers feel as much need to differentiate true from false to nonbelievers. Obviously they make mistakes some times, but so do nonbelievers. What's your point?
I asked first. What methodology do you use or propose to use in differentiating truth from untruth?

Until you produce something to support these claims, I will, as you suggest, give them no cognitive weight.
Ok. The floor is yours. Please indicate those stories that you consider to be true in the OT and NT. Noah's Ark? Jonah and the Whale, Adam and Eve, David and Golliath, Sampson and Delilah, the Exodus, creation within seven days, the battle of Jerico, etc.? Pick one and establish its bonafides. Until a claim is verifed it's not to be believed unless, that is, one is extremely gullible or deceptive.

You can guess at the motives of the writers all you like, but you can't check your guesses. So in the end you are left guessing. You can't make a tangible argument out of that.

If you can't demonstrate this whacky claim -- and you've had ample time to do so --, everyone should treat it for what it apparently is: utter stupidity.
