Default Need some Mac help!

Ok, I've got this PowerBook running OS X that won't boot. I let it run all night running BitTorrent just dling a tv show I had missed (Medium!) and the next morning it was locked up. All I could do was move the mouse. I couldn't do a Force Quit or anything. So I leaned on the power button to shut it down. Now it won't boot past the grey Apple screen with the spinning circular indicator.

I'm looking online for tips, but haven't found a whole lot yet. They all start from the point where you have a login screen, which I can't get to.

I feel so gimped! I support PCs for a living and am befuzzled by my first real Mac problem!!

Help!

Maybe you should try out some of this New Covenant. It's pretty cool.
LOL the pharisees were elitists. You're looking at separated from - Holiness is separated for or unto.

Monkey- do you have the disc it came with? Try booting up with the disc in the lappy. I can't remember what you press to do it, but I'm sure you can find that info online. Otherwise, call the Mac help number. If it is out of warranty, try to find someone who does Macs and become fast friends. I have actually made a friend who works for apple doing that stuff, so I just call him now when I have a problem (which really means asking how to install new cards and such), but he's out of town and I can't get ahold of him for a while.

You really don't read what people post do you? The point was not that she made a joke - it was that she made a very obviously OFF TOPIC post and members have been given contacts for less off topic remarks than that one was. I excuse it because it was a joke - and because I recognize it for what it was - an attempt to lighten the mood.

AGAIN - I repeat so that maybe this time it will sink in - the point was not that she made a joke - but that she made a very obviously OFF TOPIC post and as a staff member she would NEVER be punished for that post where as regular members have been issued contacts for posts that were much less obviously off topic.

This time last year I was punished for being a conservative in the republicans forum without a republican icon despite the fact that the Forum Specific rules stated that the republican forum was for republicans AND - AND conservatives. It was only after my appeal was decided against me that the rules were changed to fit the ruling.

And you have to love the claims of being short staffed when half the reason they are short staffed is BS like this.
