Who would have thought that the Gospel of Peter had some historic use, being independent attestation of the story of the guard on the tomb?

Craig probably feels himself on unsure ground in that article.

It is one of the ones where he suddenly feels the need to start speaking in German, with no translation for his intended , English-speaking readers.

So Craig is admitting that when the disciples went public, a mere 6 weeks after the alleged resurrection, there was no 'auseinandersetzung' with Judaism? No quarrelling and inspection of the stories?

If you haven't already done so, I suggest that you read the gospel of Peter for yourself. It reads like poor quality fiction.
In this gospel there are men as tall as the heavens and the cross was buried in the tomb.
