A CSIS report on Iraq and "Progress".

Thought it was worth a read. Its a read for sure, but hey, its truth, its not The Weekly Standard.

A formidable read, Jimmy. But thank you for the link.

A couple of things worth noting - the deteriorating situation in the north, for one. Does not bode well.

The other issue is the U.S. fixation with national government as opposed to regional and local government.

We have this stupid fantasyland where one just chirps "democracy" and expects it to grow like grass.

Our hubris is exceeded only by our ignorance, and the only hope I have is that we just get the hell out as soon as possible
