Default Hold on just one damn minute!!

"The Word and the Holy Spirit tells us God's nature. And the flood isn't murder. Did God kill people? Yes. But there is a difference between killing and murder. And then again, since all life belongs to God in the first place, there is no reason he can't take it away just like he gave it." - by Magnus55

My grandmother is 94 years old and has 9 children, 87 grandchildren, 128 great grandchildren, 48 great-great grandchildren, and 12 great-great-great grandchildren. Now, if she decided that we were deviating from her "plan" for the family and so planted a bomb at a family gathering killing us all what would the reaction be from the world at large?

I think everyone would agree that my grandmother was a homicidal lunatic. I think everyone would agree that she was a muderess. I think everyone would agree that she was an evil woman. I think every Christian would fully believe that grandmother would spend an eternity in hell. I think every Christian would feel that my grandmother violated the commandment "Thou shall not murder."

With that example in mind, we are left with several options when referring to God flooding the earth.
1. God and Humans can murder their progeny and that's ok.
or
2. God can murder his progeny and that's ok, but Humans cannot.

If we accept option 1. we enter into a state of anarchy. If we accept option 2. then Humans are being held to a higher standard than God.

I don't think a single Christian would agree that it is moral right for a father to kill his child (I won't go into the God-Jesus murder here). So, that only leaves us with option 2.

So, as a Christian, how do you justify a God that holds his progeny to a higher standard than He holds Himself???

Won't you answer my questions, Magus? I have another for you.

Quote:
God's power and sovereignty eminate through the universe, but God isn't actually standing on Earth. God can still follow His will and plan, making things happen on Earth and the Universe - but He isn't actually sitting in a bar doing it.
Exactly what happened when God came down to Earth as Jesus? If God maintains his influence over the Earth without actually being anywhere near it, and he does this so that he doesn't have to be in the presence of sin, then how exactly did he manage the Jesus affair?
